Stylized logo of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway on the sliding door of a maintenance of way shed at the crossing of the AT&SF and Southern Pacific in Stockton, California. The photo was made February 12, 1981, shortly after the shed was repainted. The "speed logo" features the wheel moving forward with the tails of the letters "S" and "F" trailing and leading it. It was unusual for such a logo to be reapplied in 1981, and the photographer speculates that the painter may have been a practicing railroad historian. The shed was replaced by a non-descript aluminum box in the mid-1980s.
