Santa Fe Station and Palms in Oceanside, California (editor's title)

AT&SF Oceanside depot
Tall, elegant palms sway over the Santa Fes Oceanside depot roof on a sunny southern California day in December 1986. The Mission-style structure was dedicated in December 1946 and replaced the original station, which was built in 1888. In 1987, the condemned depot was torn down and the yard switching operations moved north to Camp Pendleton. Oceanside now has a new transit center with service from a wide variety of carriers: Amtrak regional and long-distance trains; Coaster, Sprinter, and Metrolink commuter trains; and Greyhound and Breeze buses.
