AT&SF trains and El Tovar Hotel
Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe passenger trains at the El Tovar Hotel at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, circa 1950s. The trains are Bankers' Specials. El Tovar Hotel, opened in 1905, was funded by the Santa Fe Railway and operated by the Fred Harvey company. It featured electricity, phones, running water, and fine dining, making it one of the finest hotels west of the Mississippi.
