Illustration for pamphlet about passenger train, The Hummer
The Chicago & Alton published an illustrated booklet to promote its passenger train, The Hummer, which operated between Chicago and Kansas City. The cover is reproduced here. The Alton adopted slogan, "The Only Way," after its line reached Kansas City in 1879.
